The Brethren of Kenfig Lodge 8289, through our new Charity Steward, W.Bro. Richard Stephens (Dick) PprAgreg. Had the pleasure in the run up to Christmas 2023 of donating cheques to the following charities, for all the good work they are doing within the province of South Wales.

The Bridgend Food Bank, Porthcawl branch (under the Trussell trust supplying emergency food aid to people struggling in the community

Hope Dog Rescue in Llanharan, looking after stray and abandoned dogs.

Noah’s Ark children’s hospital Cardiff, that strives to give the best possible healthcare to children with specialist medical equipment and facilities and family support.

Llanmau a homeless charity supporting people most at risk, namely women, young people and young people leaving care that are most at risk of becoming homeless. Also people who have had chaotic and disadvantaged lives, including those involved in the criminal justice system.

The Christmas Festive Board to which partners and wives were invited was a huge success and we raised over £330 for local charities also donated gifts to a local charity for abused, women children and also men. A new sewing machine was gifted to a charity that makes clothes for sick children. We also sold 26 Teddies for TLC
